Yesterday I had my Musicianship lab Mid-term. He said he wanted to give me an A because my process is right and I’m on the right track but because I had to restart a few times he gave me a C+. I know I’m getting better though. I still get a little nervous but its usually just with sightsinging and things I’m not completely sure of that I get shaky on.
Today is an easy day, but still busy. I had English earlier and turned in my final analysis paper of Ender’s Game. I think it’s a really good paper. Then I have work from 11-12:45 then Math from 1-2:20 then choir from 2:30-3:50. I don’t really have anymore homework besides a few minor scales (which I can do in my sleep) and studying notes for my Bible mid-term.
I GET TO COME HOME TOMORROW TO ALL THE SNOW!

I’m just praying that my flight isn’t delayed because it’s supposed to snow tomorrow :-/

Had my English conference about my analysis paper. She said it is definetly an A paper. Had my vocal diction German test and I’m pretty sure I did well on that. Then I worked. Then wanted to shoot myself in Math. Then had choir. Then my Musicianship retake test which I’m pretty sure I did very well on. I am now doing ear training which is the most tedious, annoying thing in the world.

That’s about it.
I have a Music in Wolrd Cultures and a Bible quiz tomorrow as always and I also might have a Musicianship quiz and I have my sightsinging Mid-term. No woodwinds til after break!

3 days!

I had a pretty regular Monday. A quiz in Music in World Cultures and a quiz in Bible and an Oboe Proficiency (which I got an A on!)
Besides that I had voice lessons, which went well and Musicianship.

I’m hoping to get some hw done early so I can paint a little and get to bed pretty early.

Tomorrow I have a Vocal Diction test and a make up Musicianship melodic dictation test. I really need to ear train tonight to get ready for the melodic dictation. That stuff is hard!

That’s about all that’s going on. Just study study study.

Today was pretty relaxed. I didn’t get to go check out that church with Jessica because she forgot to wake me up… I should have set an alarm, but I thought I had asked her to wake me up. Anyways. I went out to lunch with Carrie since we both didn’t make it to lunch on time. We got some good food and both brought back left overs.
At 9 I went to a Swing council meeting. They are picking new council members since many are graduating. They are looking for Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and some PR people. Tommy and I went along with a few of our other friends and I was the first to want to be VP. I really think there is a good chance of me getting the position and I think it would be so much fun. Dan Welding (the graduating president of the club) said that I “have good leadership qualities” and I am “a good dancer”. haha

That’s the end of my weekend. Now this week is mid-terms week. Got my Oboe proficiency tomorrow and my reed is too soft :-/

Woke up at 11:30 then layed in bed til noon. Jess, Tommy and Josh came to the room and we just kind of hung out for a few hours then went to dinner. After dinner we went to go see Olivia in the Precious Movements 4th Annual concert. Precious Movements is a mime dance ministry on campus and it is AMAZING. So powerful. There were a few guests from another school there and one guy stood up and did basically a rap about being lost and not understanding God and then like a counterpart rap talking to the first rap and it was about how amazing God is and how you couldn’t live without him. It was so good.
Anyways… then we came back to the room (without Josh… he had to work :’( )and we watched the 4th Harry Potter that I hadn’t seen yet and it was pretty good.
That was basically my day. Tomorrow the gang and I are trying a Baptist church in Wayne I think. Hopfully we’ll find a church we like soon.

That’s all…

Our prayers were answered! No classes today. Now, if only this would have happened on a Monday or Wednesday when I have about 6 classes… We got about 2 or 3 inches and it’s not even snowing now… NH would have not done anything about this, but thankfully (just in thing case), we are not in NH! I am so thankful. I always have quizzes on Monndays, WEdnesdays and Fridays and I was up reading til 1:30 so now I have the entire weekend to read and study for mid-terms and catch up on sleep!

Tommy called our room around 8:30 to tell us and Jessica and I just woke up a bit ago and are going to go get some lunch in a few minutes. I have a feeling we will just be hanging out today and playing in the snow. We MIGHT do some work later in the evening just to say we weren’t COMPLETELY unproductive…

Haha Jessica let her tea steep to long and she is spilling sugar everywhere… It’s going to be an interesting day.

Anywho, I leave you people with this picture to reflect on.

It is from Jessica’s birthday. Tommy went out and bought her sparkling cider because she loves the stuff (and it’s cheap and, well, we’re in college) and we took this silly picture one morning before class.

Yes, yes… I know. I figured I’m in college now and there are 2 things almost every college student has: Poor sleeping habits and a blog. I had one of those down a long time ago so it’s about time I get the second. Getting this blog was more for my mom and sisters since they have them and it keeps them updated on things happening in my life incase I forget to call.

So Anyways… Not too much has been happening this semester. I have about a million classes and just as many books and papers to read. I haven’t been doing as well as I should on some of my musicianship tests lately, but thankfully Ron lets us retake tests we don’t like.

In other news, I GET TO GO HOME IN 8 DAYS! I plan on spending a lot more time at my house this vacation which means the boys, Kent, Chels, and Alex are gonna have to suck it up and drive to see ME more! Speaking of Alex, he gave me the sweetest valentine’s day present. It was a song that he wrote for me. The lyrics go something like

He wrote it one night after his mom was telling him how much she liked me and how happy he is when he’s around me. So yeah. I thought that was pretty cute. He’s a nice guy and I’m hoping things turn out better with this guy then the last few… let’s just say I haven’t had the best judgement in guys in the past. But this one shows promise. :p

Anyways. I am currently painting a monochromatic picture of me and my best friend Kent. It is from a picture I took 2 summers ago when we were at the beach. It’s turning out pretty good. I really wanted to paint Kent because I have painted each of the boys numerous times and I’ve painted Chelsi and Alex and my sisters and others so why haven’t I painted Kent yet?! It’s about time! Next I need to paint more of my family members.

I have a swing council meeting this Sunday which will determine whether I will be on the council next year. Next week is mid-terms. I don’t have too many. I have I Sight Singing mid-term on Wednesday along with an Oboe proficiency either Monday or Wednesday. I have the retake of my Musicianship test on Tuesday and my Bible mid-term on Friday right before I leave to go to the airport.

Well, I suppose that is sufficient for my first blog entry. Now that everyone is caught up maybe the next entries wont be so spuratic. Hop everyone has a great day!

P.s. There is Swing tonight and Faryl (A great dancer that owns The Ballroom On High in Pottstown) is going to be there! And It’s supposed to snow and sleet like crazy tomorrow!
